Reef Specialty has put together this professional Orca 250 kit to meet the needs of the extreme marine hobbiest. The Pro Kit is what we run on our own 500 gallon SPS tank.

The protein skimmer is 13" in diameter and 39" tall with a footprint of 16" x 20".
It can be installed as free standing unit either inside or outside the stand.
It is made of 1/4" cast acrylic. Updated model now has drain. Reef Specialty 250 Collection Cup Take your Orca 250 to the next level with Reef Specialties larger size collection cup. Improve your overall skimmer performance and control to your current Orca skimmer! The neck diameter size is the same as stock, just the necks length and cup size has been changed.
The Upgraded cup allows for more water volume to enter the skimmer, which in turn adds more pressure in volume. This does add turbulence and would not get good results with the stock cup. The longer neck is used to calm the column of air as it reaches the cup. If you believe in dwell time then the longer neck also allows for this. Ultimately it makes the skimmer a better performer.
Reasons why the Reef Specialty cup works better:
- More control over wet and dry skimmate pull
- More water volume can be added
- More dwell time
- The upward air movement in the neck is calmer
- The foam doesn't crown against the cups lid

We start with a large Precision Marine waste collector and add a Coral Vue auto top off unit to create a custom safety net for you system.
This means no overflowing skimmers due to a missed adjustment, change in tank load, or the addition of tank additives that can cause any skimmer to over foam.
This is not a 100% guarantee against overflow issues.
