1 year warranty on pump and body Options: Super Reef Octopus Bubble Blaster Pump [HY-3000S] $155.00 (limited availability) The new Octopus Bubble Blaster pump is available for an optional upgrade replacing the Sicce pump (rated at 600gph at 20 watts) for the Octopus Extreme 200 Skimmer. The HY-3000S is a 35 watt skimmer pump at 800gph. We are expecting to see 55 to 60scfh with this pump on the current Extreme skimmers. The new pumps are reported to have zero start up issues and come with a 3 year warranty. The pump will also have the upgraded silicone nitride shaft and bearings. Calcium will not adhere to this material.
With the new Bubble blaster pumps the skimmer will be able to effectively turn over more water due to the higher water pull and the huge increase in air pull. This pump should rock a Octo/MSX body (probably maxing it out) and can't wait to see some in action. One thing I really notice on my Bubble Blaster 5000 is it runs completely cool to the touch externally, so there should be zero heat transfer to the tank water running it internally. This also opens up a whole new door for those mod enthusiasts out there that want to turn there internal Extreme skimmers to external.
